After more than 35 years as one of Dallas’ most enduring Italian restaurants, Adelmo’s Ristorante is preparing to relocate to Preston Valley Shopping Center, at the southwest corner of Preston Road and 635. The restaurant will occupy a 3,750-square-foot space in the longtime retail landmark.
Owned and operated by Adelmo Banchetti and his wife, Eliza, Adelmo’s has built its reputation on consistency—classic dishes, steady execution, and a dining room defined by warmth rather than trend. Banchetti, a Florence native, trained in some of Dallas’ most prominent kitchens, including The Mansion Restaurant and the Pyramid Room at Fairmont Dallas, before opening Adelmo’s in Uptown. The restaurant later moved to Inwood Village, where it developed a loyal following.
That following has been drawn as much to the atmosphere as the menu. Adelmo’s is known for its old-school Italian cooking—lasagna, veal osso buco—and a family-driven approach that has remained largely unchanged over decades. The move to Preston Valley signals a new chapter, but not a reinvention.

The lease was negotiated by Weitzman’s Bernard Shaw, along with brokers Ben Terry and Amber Bacon. For Weitzman executive chairman Herb Weitzman, the addition carries personal significance. Opened in 1965, Preston Valley was one of the firm’s earliest retail centers and remains under its management. Its mix of tenants—including Terry Costa, India Palace, Maple Leaf Diner and Le Reve Gelato & Patisserie—has long combined retail with destination dining.
Adelmo’s move reflects a simple strategy: keep the food, the feeling, and the sense of familiarity intact—just in a new address.
