When opening Pizzeria Testa in Frisco owner Rod Schaefer brought in a big gun and Master Pizzaiolo from Italy, Michele D’ Amelio. After four months on the job training the staff at Testa he fell in love with North Texas and the restaurant and decided he would love to stay in the US.
The only obstacle was D’ Amelio’s Italian citizenship, so he applied for a special visa that the government grants on exceedingly rare occasions to those at the top of their field. It was approved in a mere 14 days. Obtaining a special visa from the government can be a tedious task at best proving that pizza skills can get you far in this life.
