Untapped Festival just announced that the 9th edition of Untapped will take place on May 9 at Panther Island Pavilion in Fort Worth. Earlier this year, Untapped announced the festival series was expanding to both Austin and San Antonio in 2015. The Fort Worth event will mark the 3rd time the festival has taken place at Panther Island Pavilion.
“Fort Worth is a special place for us as the city has always embraced and supported Untapped,” says festival organizer, Matthew Harber of Spune Productions. “Our second event was in Fort Worth and the response really encouraged us to start thinking about expanding to other cities. As the Fort Worth market continues to grow, we are excited to grow alongside it.”
Now in its fourth year, Untapped energetically encapsulates the eclectic culture of the craft beer community while highlighting both emerging bands and established musical talent. Sold-out crowds experience expertly curated lists of breweries and bands. The goal of Untapped is to bring thoughtfully paired music to seasoned craft beer drinkers and to introduce new and exciting craft beers to discerning music fans. As the festival continues to assist in building connections between the craft beer and music communities, organizers are thrilled to celebrate artists and breweries they know and love.
The Fort Worth lineup will feature nine performers including hip-hop legends De La Soul plus Big Data, The Lone Bellow, The Sword, Ariel Pink, Knox Hamilton, Greylag, Telegraph Canyon and Doug Burr.
The beer list will feature over 250 unique craft beers from more than 70 breweries and will reflect both the high quality and special selections festivalgoers have come to expect from the Untapped Festival brand. “It is amazing to witness and be a part of the phenomenal growth of craft beer in the greater Dallas-Fort Worth area,” says festival organizer, Corey Pond of NTX Beer Week and The Common Table. “At the first edition of the festival in Fort Worth, we featured local breweries in Rahr and Martin House. Martin House was literally only a few days old. By the end of 2015, DFW will be home to over 40 breweries, many of them residing in Fort Worth. Accordingly, this year in Fort Worth we will have more local AND national breweries and beers than ever before.” The participating brewery list will be announced shortly and the beer list will soon follow.
Untapped will be located at Panther Island Pavilion in downtown Fort Worth. Panther Island Pavilion is a scenic outdoor venue on the Trinity River with multiple stages and the downtown Fort Worth skyline as a backdrop. Other Untapped event dates include April 18 in Austin at Carson Creek Ranch, September 12 in Houston, November 7 in Dallas and the date for San Antonio will be announced in the near future.
