Mexican Sugar to Open in Uptown

Mexican Sugar, known for its innovative approach to Mexican cuisine, today announced the grand opening of its third restaurant on May 16. The new restaurant is the first in Uptown Dallas, located at 2355 Olive Street #155, near the popular intersection of McKinney and Olive.

“We’re excited to celebrate the opening of our newest Mexican Sugar in Uptown,” said Justin Beam, Director of Operations for Mexican Sugar. “We have created an unforgettable dining experience that celebrates the richness of Mexican culture and cuisine. Our new location offers both elegance and warmth — perfect to celebrate any occasion.”

With more than 12,000 square feet, the new location offers two floors with both indoor and exterior seating options on each level. The transportive atmosphere, with a seating capacity of almost 400, is inspired by the beauty and diversity of Mexican architecture and design.

The menu is a celebration of Mexico’s rich culinary heritage, featuring vibrant and bold flavors made from scratch with the freshest ingredients available. Highlights include tacos served on hand-pressed heirloom masa tortillas, tuna crudo, whole fried snapper, smoked lamb neck, and elevated takes on classics like lobster fundito, bone-in pork chop and prime short rib fajitas.

In addition, the new Uptown location features an experiential Agave Library housing a robust collection of over 150 tequilas, mezcals and sotols to complement the bold menu. Mexican Sugar’s drink menu offers hand-crafted agave flights, margaritas, sangrias, wine, beer, fresh juices and coffee.

The Uptown Mexican Sugar will be open Monday thru Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. The new location, at Granite Properties’ office and retail destination, McKinney & Olive, marks Mexican Sugar’s third restaurant in the metroplex. The original Mexican Sugar opened in Plano, Texas, in 2013, followed by Las Colinas, Texas, in 2020.
