Treats of Christmas at NorthPark

The Texas Chefs Association is look for professional bakers to donate their goods to this wonderful cause that benefits several local charities in North Texas.  They are also looking for professional pastry eaters to come buy the goods!  Check out the information below to learn how you may help.

NorthPark Center and the Texas Chefs Association’s 25th Annual “Treats of Christmas” will be held Saturday, December 17th at NorthPark Center.

The best chefs, bakers and culinary students in Dallas will sell sumptuous cakes, cookies, pies and candies to raise much needed funds for the North Texas Food Bank and the Union Gospel Mission.  Continue reading →

Get Involved with the Holidays

Christmas is the season of love and what better way to show love for our fellow man than by giving your time and resources helping the less fortunate. There are numerous organizations, businesses, and groups raising money, gifts, and food for those in need. Last night we checked out the annual DIFFA Holiday Wreath Collection auction at McKinney Avenue Design District at Design Within Reach, Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams and Nest. Join the Dallas Santa Rampage

Dallas Santa Rampage is a flash mob that meets a Santa-themed mobile party. The group of fledgling Santa’s have met for the past 10 years and the sleigh full of Santa’s has swelled to a belly busting 400+. Now is your chance to be part of this phenomenon on December 17, 2011.

The meeting place for the Santa’s is always a secret, just as the various destinations for the evening. Clues have been released on Facebook, but the details are a bit foggy. Perhaps a red nose can figure that the path will follow the light rail as they ask you have a pass ready for the night.          Continue reading →
