A Visit To Polk-A-Dot Bakery
I had a chance to stop into the Polk-A-Dot Bakery this weekend and found some pretty marvelous goods being offered at this one year old business. The very quaint bakery is located in Addison Circle served breakfast and lunch, but is open most nights until 9pm, offering their guests spectacular coffees and free wifi on into the night.
The new owner Nicole Margulies can be found tending to details and a certain happiness quotient exudes as her patrons snapped up all the fresh cookies, brownies and cupcakes she has to offer. Continue reading

Celebrating 420 Day in Dallas
We have not seen many 420 Day celebrations planned by any restaurants or bars until today. The first to announce any happenings is Hacienda on Henderson who has plenty to celebrate this weekend. The party starts at 4:20 on Friday, April 20, 2012 and Hacienda will be offering many drink specials and menu items for $4.20 including a special brownie that should get you going for the evening. Have a Safe and Happy St Pats
As we get ready for the weekend we wish to thank you for checking out our little website this week. We considered throwing out a list of places to medicate your liver for St Pats, but there are plenty of options and we want to get started in on the fun ourselves right away. We have a crew of camera folks hitting the streets starting tonight, so if you see a craveDFW photog be sure to look extra inebriated.
Be safe and enjoy one of our favorite holidays of the year. May the hinges of our friendship never grow rusty.

A Special Benefit at Zen Bistro and Dessert Bar
Last March I had the pleasure to meet two very fine women who started a bakery in Deep Ellum. I first met their father outside their yet-to-open shop as I was racing across town on foot and noticed the man painting the walls out front of what would become Zen Bistro & Dessert Bar. He invited me in for a chat and quickly scribbled down their names and cell phone numbers. He was excited for me to chat with his daughters.
Just days later I met both Chonnie Richey and Czarina Hounsel, two women devoted to their families, to their business and to each other. They are also so very involved in their community, devoting their time and profits to helping others.
Ironically, one of the charities they have supported through out the time they have been in operation is Children’s Medical Center in Dallas. Continue reading

Super Bowl Grid Iron Nosh
Many of you are in the process of planning your Super Bowl parties this weekend and I thought I would share some of my plans for this weekend’s festivities.
First thing I look for is the food because that will dictate what kind of alcohol I will be consuming. Some people will look to have foods from each city represented at the party, which would mean New York style pizza, pastrami you wish was from Katz’s, bagels if you are starting early to represent the Giants and clam chowder, maybe some oysters and cod and Boston cream pie.
