In 2005, when Atti Worku was named Miss Ethiopia, she took the public platform as an opportunity to found Seeds of Africa. She had moved to Dallas and signed with The Campbell Agency and her modeling career was in bloom.
At a young age, Atti noticed the disturbing difference between her private school experience and the other children unable to afford that privilege. In her hometown of Adama, Ethiopia she witnessed a system not working and the vicious cycle of poverty lead her to want to help. Thus, Seeds of Africa, a non-profit committed to education and aid to children in Adama, was born while she was living in Dallas. Continue reading
