Gin Mill Celebrates the Repeal of Prohibition with a Winter Beer Dinner

With over 100 chairs filled with anxious patrons, The Gin Mill threw quite a dinner to help locals revel in their food and beer loving ways. The true guests of honor would have to be Franconia and Stone; breweries that is. I was lucky enough to be directed to one of the last parking spots by none other than owner, Peter Kenny. When we got a chance to chat inside, he was excited to be commemorating the one year mark for The Gin Mill, located on Henderson Avenue. Kenny, who also owns Capitol Pub and The Dubliner, has added reason to celebrate given the successful run of 5 and 18 years respectively. Continue reading

Gin Mill Beer Dinner Weds Dec 5

The Gin Mill hosts a winter-inspired beer dinner Wednesday, December 5, 7:00 p.m. featuring Stone Brewing Co.  from San Diego, CA and local brewer Franconia Brewery of McKinney, TX.

Two select brews from each brewery will be paired with 4 pub-inspired courses.  Cost is $35 per person, excluding gratuity, tax and additional beverages.  This is a true beer bargain. Continue reading

All Day Happy Hour At Gin Mill

The Gin Mill on Henderson is attracting a new top of the week crowd with their all day Monday and Tuesday specials that includes an all-day happy hour with discounted drinks on into the evening and half price signature or “build your own” flatbread pizzas and appetizers including the popular Mad Mussels, Vodka Shrimp, Jimmy’s Meatballs and Chinese Steamed Buns until kitchen close at 11:00pm.

The bar hosts a good amount of local brews such as Franconia, Deep Ellum, Peticolas and Lakewood on tap, serving 80 beers in all.
