Sunday Brunch: The Cedars Social

by Joy Jangles

We’re heading over to The Cedars Social for Sunday Brunch this week. This retro-chic cocktail den and kitchen serves adventurous cocktails developed by leading barmen Michael Martensen and a modern comfort styled menu originally created by award-winning chef John Tesar, but now totally revamped by very talented chef Kyle McClelland.

With its charming vintage wood interiors and eclectic modern pieces, it graces diners with a sense of familiarity coupled with playful touches of flair. The cozy fireplace is perfect for cold nights and additional patio space is available with a nice downtown view.

The menu layout is simple: small plates to share with the table or smaller bites for just yourself. Favorite items for brunch include the Smoked Salmon with Spicer’s arugula, crispy potatoes, crème fraiche and lemon mayonnaise or the housemade turkey hash with soft scrambled eggs with hollandaise. Also be sure to try the Breakfast Flatbread – topped with crispy pork belly, caramelized onion, cave-aged cheddar and over easy eggs, it’s truly a breakfast lover’s paradise.

Join The Cedars Social for brunch every Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
