Good 2 Go Taco Shuttering

Restaurants and bars had a rough 2016, and we will see some terrific places closing into the new year. Another tragic loss is Good 2 Go Taco which is located in East Dallas and owned by Jeana Johnson and Colleen O’Hare who also ran Mot Hai Ba (sold in 2016). Good 2 Go is in the same strip as Goodfriend and 20 Feet Seafood at 1146 Peavy Road.

Their burritos and tacos were legendary. Check out the piece we did a few years back when we covered their brunch.

Here are their parting words:

With the arrival of 2017, Good 2 Go Taco has decided it’s time to close. We don’t come to the decision lightly but we feel like we’ve accomplished everything we wanted and are ready to move on to the next chapter. When we first opened inside the Green Spot in 2009, we felt like we were blazing a trail with our chefs’ take on the humble taco. We were so grateful that people agreed. We attracted a dedicated following of customers and fans who we love, and loved seeing the lines form at the Green Spot. All of that positive response helped lay the foundation for us to open our own restaurant in East Dallas in 2011. We appreciate all the accolades we earned, including appearances on The Best Thing I Ever Ate and Taco Trip with Aaron Sanchez as well as multiple “Best of” nods over the years. We feel proud that we took an area that felt undiscovered and attracted so many other businesses like Goodfriend, 20 Feet Seafood, Lounge Here, and more. As taco fans / gourmet taco pioneers, we love seeing places like Torchy’s and Resident Taqueria thrive. We’re so appreciative of our fans and customers who visited us every day and hope we’ll see you again in another setting. For the next few days, we’ll be hosting a goodbye party with all of your favorite tacos until the food runs out.
