Chef Owner Thanh Nguyen Has Opened a Second Oishii

This week, Dallas’ favorite neighborhood sushi restaurant, Oishii has opened a second location. “Oishii Boulevard” is situated at 5627 SMU Boulevard and is helmed by Chef Nguyen’s talented nephew, Chef Partner Tri Tran. Tri has honed his craft at Oishii, Uchi, and Nobu restaurants. Restaurant operations are led by General Manager Brian Huynh, an Advanced Sommelier with the Court of Master Sommeliers, who has worked at the Mansion on Turtle Creek and Gemma.

At this time, Oishii Boulevard is dinner only, with lunch service starting by February. The restaurant is accepting limited reservations at 972-863-8863.

Chef Thanh has hired new management at the original 2525 Wycliff Avenue location.

General Manager Fabian Hernandez, a Certified Sommelier with the Court of Master Sommeliers, started with Thanh at Steel Restaurant’s inception, has also worked at Pappas Bros Steakhouse, Ocean Prime, and Nana Restaurant in Dallas. Fabian has brought in a seasoned team to elevate service and implement a new beverage program offering boutique wines, fine sakes, and craft cocktails to compliment Thanh’s exceptional Sushi and Pan-Asian Cuisine.

Coming Spring 2020 is LaVui, a Bahn Mi & Pho café named after his beloved mother, Joy.
