Burgers and Burgundy Returns with Host Michelin Star Chef John Tesar

The Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS (DIFFA) is one of the largest and most successful fundraising organizations in the fight against HIV/AIDS with chapters in Dallas, New York, Chicago, and San Francisco. The Dallas chapter, formed in 1984, is the largest in the DIFFA family and the premiere HIV/AIDS organization in Texas that provides funding to local HIV/AIDS Service Organizations within our community.

Alongside its national partner, DIFFA Dallas has granted more than $50 million to frontline HIV/AIDS Service Organizations providing direct care to those living with HIV/AIDS. Highlighting the design community, DIFFA/Dallas hosts multiple fundraising events throughout the season including House of DIFFA, the largest nonprofit gala in Dallas. Through your support and generosity, DIFFA Dallas is able to make a significant impact within our community. For more information about the organization or to get involved, please visit www.DIFFADallas.org. Follow DIFFA Dallas on Facebook and Instagram.

The critically acclaimed DIFFA Dallas signature culinary event, Burgers & Burgundy, will return for its 13th year this October at Peace Plaza at Cathedral of Hope.

A five-time James Beard “Best Chef Southwest” semifinalist, Chef John Tesar earned a MICHELIN star honor earlier this year. Burgers & Burgundy combines the talented celebrity chef who will gather together other star chefs from across North Texas and the United States for an evening featuring flavorful burger creations paired with each chef’s favorite glass of vino.

As the wine pours nonstop, guests are invited to visit each station as often as they would like and take a perfect selfie with some of the most bold-faced chefs around.

“This event is perfect for those who have been supporters of DIFFA for decades, as well as those who are wanting to learn more about our world class events,” said Burgers & Burgundy event chair Wesley Dowden.

Attendees will also be the first to hear DIFFA Dallas Board Trustees Richard Rivas and Haley Clark reveal the tightly kept secret of next year’s theme for House of DIFFA, the iconic runway fashion show and gala on “the longest runway… I’ve ever seen.” (Stephen MacMillan Moser, Austin Chronicle.) The annual charity gala returns May 13, 2023, at the Hilton Anatole, and promises to be even bigger than the historic 30th anniversary celebration held earlier this year.

We will announce participating chefs as we are nearer the event, but grab your tickets today!
