
Since opening in 2018, The Charles—the inaugural concept from Dallas-based Duro Hospitality—has held a defining place in the city’s dining landscape. Now, the restaurant enters its next chapter with a thoughtful redesign and a refined culinary focus that honors its origins while moving decisively forward. The restaurant now takes on a reimagined look and feel.


The newly reimagined space enhances what has always defined The Charles: a layered, romantic sensibility rooted in Italian influence. Original architectural elements remain intact, anchoring the room, while deeper textures, dramatic drapery, Murano glass lighting, and old-world detailing introduce a richer, moodier atmosphere. Mid-century notes have given way to a more expressive, 18th-century Italian elegance—evolved, but unmistakably familiar. The layout remains unchanged, though the entry has expanded inward, creating a more immersive arrival experience.
Parallel to the design evolution is a focused shift in the kitchen. The refreshed menu places renewed emphasis on the wood-fired grill, a cornerstone of The Charles since day one, now more prominently featured. Simply grilled, high-quality proteins take center stage alongside the housemade pastas and enduring favorites guests expect.
The Reimagined Fire Menu
New menu highlights include Focaccia di Charles with prosciutto and black truffle honey, Hamachi Crudo with green apple chimichurri, and Carrots & Burrata. From the grill, offerings range from BBQ Pork Jowl and Tiger Prawns with spicy lemon butter to Wagyu Short Rib, gorgonzola-crusted Wagyu NY Strip, and Pork Tenderloin Porchetta. Pasta additions include Cappellini with caviar and Meyer lemon, Snow Crab “6 Pack”, and Gnocchi al Ragu with braised wagyu beef cheek. Dessert concludes with an Affogato Semifreddo, finished tableside with flaming espresso.
