Vegan Girl Finds Molly Maguires
Everyone knows I love whiskey, as every good Irish girl should. So, scotch hits into that category. It is super delicious, even though they make it on the wrong island. It’s not a good idea to drink scotch on an empty stomach, but also hard to find vegan eats at a bar that has a good scotch selection. Lucky for Dallas vegans we have Molly Maguire’s.
Touting the best scotch selection in Dallas is a one of the fastest ways to get me to show up at your bar (or anywhere, really). Offering vegan options along with that scotch is the best way to get me to return. This is the beauty of Molly Maguire’s. Continue reading

Where Can a Vegan Girl Watch the Game?
by Melissa Brenner
Vegan sports fans (yes, we exist) rejoice! While the list of sports bars in Dallas is enormous, trying to find one with vegan options is nearly impossible. This whittles our options down to: eating before heading to the bar and hoping you don’t get hungry during the inevitable double overtime OR going to a friend’s house/staying home (maybe you can watch it at home, but I haven’t had a tv for about 6 years).
During something as exciting as a Dallas team in the finals, it’s just way more fun to be out with the obnoxious crowds in a bar. The noise and excitement, high fiving people you have never seen before, bonding with the drunk guy next to you over that bad ref call….it’s just too much fun to miss. So, my friends, here are a few places that you can go to watch the game, revel in the crowds, and eat vegan treats. Continue reading

Vegan Girl Dreams of Villa-O
There are almost innumerable reasons that I love dining at Villa-O, but I am going to list just a few, in no particular order, that I think will compel you to book your table today.
You’re on a boat. (Yes, I’m totally singing the song and laughing if it’s now stuck in your head) Having grown up on the Gulf Coast (the Florida side), there is nothing more nostalgic for me than sitting on a boat during a breezy and balmy evening. While there is no glassy, clear blue water anywhere near Dallas, the décor of Villa-O allows you to feel like you’re cruising the sea on a fantastic yacht (you just have to ignore the people walking by as they tend to ruin the fantasy….unless you’re accustom to people walking on water). The Vegan Girl Checks Out The Commissary
What’s a vegan foodie to do in Dallas? Explore and enjoy! Despite Big D being a carnivore carnival, there are amazing options for those of us food lovers who opt for a plant based diet. The chefs at all of the hot spots in town have been amazing, accommodating, and enthusiastic about offering off menu items or adding permanent options to the menu. I’ve been shocked at how many of my veggie friends aren’t aware of the secret vegan menus or the places that are all too happy to whip up some special culinary delight. Since I’m the vegan girl that’s not afraid to ask, I’ve collected a list of dining spots in town that have mind blowing food available and now I’m going to share it with all of you! Stay tuned for updates on the best vegan places you never knew about! Continue reading
