The Sunset Lounge celebrates their grand opening tonight with a few specials that should entice most any thirsty scallywag. Stop in any time tonight and you will be charged just three dollars regardless what you order. That is three bucks for any cocktail, three bucks for any of the food items.
The menu is fairly short, but then again so is their kitchen. Here you will find bar food at its finest. A fantastic grilled fish taco, ceviche and made to order guacamole. The ceviche is a must try.
The big emphasis on the cocktail menu are the tiki drinks. Rumrunners, Bahama Mamma’s and the strongest drink offered, the Zombie. The latter has a limit of two and is made with 151 rum. I had one last week and it tasted incredible, but packed a wallop.
Don’t forget to tip your hat to one of Dallas’ most celebrated bartenders, Lucky Campbell. You will also catch a glimpse of super bartender Nico Ponce, the GM. Speaking of hats, if you wonder why Lucky has been sans hat of late, legend has it a woman offered to buy his famous chapeau for $400 while he was working one night. Every man has his price.
