Artizone’s Dinner in a Garden

Artizone.com, Dallas’ own online shopping website and home delivery service has paired up with David Anthony Temple (aka Chef DAT) and Tom Spicer for “Dinner in the Garden,” Sunday, October 30 at 5pm benefitting The Family Place.

Using the freshest produce from Artizone supported local farms including Spiceman’s FM 1410, artisanal shops and small businesses, Chef DAT will compose a one of a kind dinner concerto in 5 movements, to be performed in Spiceman’s urban garden with an orchestra of wines to match.              Continue reading →

DIFFA’s Burgers and Burgundy at One Arts Plaza

Burgundy… Chardonnay and Pinot Noir never had it so well as when it is grown here. I have had many different Chardonnays and Pinots and there is just something magical about the wines coming from this area. There was no way a little rain was going to hold me back from going to the DIFFA Burger and Burgundy event hosted by Chef John Tesar at One Arts Plaza.

As it turns out, the rain listened to my pleas for calm and the event was able to be held outside in really pleasant weather. After checking in and receiving a glass to hold my Burgundy, it was time to eat and drink. I had to pass on the creations of Michael Martensen and Lucky Campbell, though I did hear they were delicious, in order to find my first taste of Burgundy.

I found the 2009 Louis Latour sitting next to the grill of Tim Byres, who had a duck burger topped with duck pastrami. I could have just eaten that duck pastrami with the wine and been in heaven. The wine had a bit higher acidity that really melted with the duck fat. Great way to start!   Continue reading →

Burgers and Burgundy Back This Weekend

Eleven celebrity chefs will join Chef John Tesar  at One Arts Plaza, Sunday, October 9 for the third annual Burgers & Burgundy event benefitting The Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS: DIFFA. Their mission: serve up their best burger to raise funds for the Foundation which for over 20 years has been instrumental in raising money to directly help those living with HIV and AIDS. Hear The Music Play In Cowtown

Join some of the best names in national, regional and local music scene at the Fort Worth Music Fest  Sept. 30 & Oct. 1.  Held on the tree lined lawn of the Will Rogers Memorial Center, the Festival is a celebration of Fort Worth’s rich and diverse musical heritage.

2 days of non-stop music featuring 20 acts on 2 stages, cooking classes by area chefs, artworks for sale by area artists and groovy gear by local vendors make up the 2011 Fort Worth Music Festival.

Doors open at 4 p.m. on Friday and 1 p.m. on Saturday.

First Look at Private Social

We were invited to take a first look at Tiffany Derry’s new restaurant Private Social  this afternoon and truly enjoyed what we found. Along with Derry’s fresh and interesting cooking style we also saw one of our favorite bartenders, Rocko Milano, at the ready making some pretty insane cocktails. We were also surprised to see DLynn Proctor  performing somm duties.

There were a few familiar faces on the wait staff and even spied dread-head Edward Bryan formerly of Il Cane Rosso doing at expo. He worked for Jay Jerrier since the very beginning when he was first tossing pizza at the Chocolate Angel Too location.

We will have a full interview with former Top Chef star Tiffany Derry tomorrow, along with a separate conversation we had today with Rocko, all tomorrow on craveDFW.
