Houston’s Trentino Creates Gelato With Local Flavor

Marcelo Kreindel, owner of Trentino Gelato, thinks about chocolate in a different way than most. Trentino is the Houston based gelato concern that is shaking the foundations of our beliefs in not only gelato but chocolate as well. Kreindal has collaborated with a bean-to-bar chocolate company called Tejas Chocolate which is located in Spring, Texas to bring the more exotic chocolate using single sourced beans from Venezuela, Brazil, Ecuador, Bolivia, the Dominican Republic, Madagascar and Mexico. Village Theater Adding Paciugo

I was in last night to taste the new menu (photos and such later today) and Hearl pointed out the space for the new Paciugo location next door just as you walk into the Village Theater. Something New At The Dallas Farmers Market

I stumbled through the Shed 2 at the Dallas Farmers Market which boasts more than a few really nice food vendors including some of the best barbecue in Dallas, Pecan Lodge and my favorite Reuben at Old World Sausage Company. This weekend I saw a few changes and additions that you should check out.

There is a new restaurant offering sandwiches, wraps and paninis called Frenchie’s Bistro which is in the old Natsumi spot. Continue reading →

Morelli’s Gelato Now Available in Dallas

Giuseppe Morelli and his son Mario ventured out early in the day to literally peddle their homemade ice cream on bicycles and would not return until all their cream was sold. Their product was wildly popular in the UK. This was in 1907.

In 1932 the family opened their first ice cream parlor in Broadstairs, Kent and continued to grow their business. Now you can find their gelato in London, Monaco, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and now Dallas, Texas. Continue reading →
