Each week we are beating the streets in search of the perfect breakfast, lunch or dinner. We share our positive experiences with you in hopes that you might enjoy these as well. We get plenty of feedback about particular features of craveDFW, and one of the more compelling requests is that we continue the What’s for Supper ditty we toss up when we have an abundance of food photos without a full story. We can assure you, this hasn’t gone away.
We went to plenty of restaurants over the past week and here are some of our favorites.
We really enjoy several of the tapas restaurants in Dallas, and we seem to be hitting Sangria’s quite a bit lately. It could be the location we enjoy, or the patio, but we really think it’s the food.
We are a sucker for brunch and had this delicious egg white omelet hit the spot with its goat cheese, spinach and tomato, served with a side of fresh fruit.
One of our very favorite things on the planet is a good fried pie. Baker’s Ribs is now serving a slew of fried pies including this brisket pie. Others you may choose from include the many fruit and cream pies. The coconut is pretty special.
From fried pies to donuts. What are we thinking? Well these aren’t your average donuts, in fact some might say they aren’t donuts at all. The Chorizo Donuts are one of the many appetizers you will find at Campo Modern Country Cuisine.
Blue Mesa is best known for their New Mexican style of cuisine. Plenty of green chiles and rich sauces. Besides their fantastic brunch, Blue Mesa might be best known for the Adobe Pie. This special dome of corn masa filled with chicken and roasted chiles is a satisfying meal unto itself. We found the recipe!
There are a few favorite items we enjoy at the new Bistro 31 including the goat cheese tart Provencal and the pork belly infused escargot. But what makes us weak at the knees is this roasted beet and burrata Caprese salad topped with very crispy Serrano ham.
What have you been dining on lately? Send us your favorite food shots and we will include you in this feature next time.
