Review: Nazca Kitchen Sings With A Full Symphony Of Flavor

DSC05057by Steven Doyle

When we broke the story that Nazca Kitchen was moving into the shopping center on Walnut Hill just behind Red, Hot and Blues (and coincidently owned by the same folks) we had no idea what to expect. South American cuisine can mean so much, especially with its European influences. This allows for a broad and interesting menu. The beautiful interior was designed by  Hatsumi Kuzuu who also designed FT33.

The menu strikes bold flavors using interesting chiles as well as colorful grains and sauces. The restaurant is open all day, starting with a delightful breakfast menu that is all about healthy, just as you might enjoy in Brazil. Enjoy the Acai Bowl which is laden with the super fruit, bananas, granola and drizzled with passion fruit.    Continue reading

Ocho Kitchen Brings The Taste Of New Mexico To Dallas

DSC04490by Steven Doyle

Under the reigns of chef Eric DiStefano, Ocho Kitchen and Cocktails has morphed into a fantastic take on the New Mexico plate. His staff roasts fresh Anaheim chiles each day to create these full flavored dishes not too unlike he does at his restaurants in Santa Fe. I tried some of the menu when the restaurant opened just a few short months ago in Preston Center near Northwest Highway, and had a chance to sample the majority of them again this past weekend.

They started brunch service three weeks ago, and that menu looks equally delicious. Continue reading

A Fall Menu To Be Thankful For: Dragonfly

by Melissa Robert

As November draws to a close we have heard the many beautiful and heartwarming things that our friends and family are thankful for. Personally, I’m thankful for an amazing fall menu. The particular Dallas restaurant that has given me this attitude of gratitude is none other than Dragonfly inside the Hotel ZaZa. The Fall 2012 menu, which was introduced approximately 2 weeks ago, is filled with flavorful and elegant dishes that we have come to expect from Executive Chef Dan Landsberg. Landsberg, who made a name for himself at Tillman’s Roadhouse and Stephan Pyles Restaurant, has been with Hotel ZaZa since February of last year.    Continue reading

Acme F&B Looking Grimm

by Melissa Robert

Being known as a food lover amongst your peers means that you are regularly asked where to dine in Dallas. Last week I had the pleasure of enjoying a meal with friends at Acme F&B and I can safely say this is one restaurant you don’t want to miss.

Upon entering the large front doors I was immediately greeted not only by the hostess, but also by a wonderful and enticing aroma that filled the air. I made my way to the bar in the back, enjoying the thoughtful and warm décor anchored by a large fireplace in the middle of an open dining room. The patio area is also very spacious, this night I opted for the cozy grouping of armchairs near the fireplace.     Continue reading
