WaterTower Theatre Artistic Director Joanie Schultz today announced casting and creative team details for the Regional Premiere of Hit the Wall by multi-award-winning playwright Ike Holter. Hit the Wall will be directed by Joanie Schultz, and marks her WTT directorial inauguration. Hit the Wall will run July 28th – August 20th, 2017, in the Canterbury Family Main Stage at the Addison Theatre Centre. The cast features Kelsey Leigh Ervi as Peg, Joshua Gonzales as Tano, Walter Lee as Carson, Gregory Lush as Cop, Camille Monae as Roberta, Stephen Rosenberger as Newbie, Rashaun Sibley as Mika, Garret Storms as Cliff, Jacie Hood Wenzel as Madeline, and Brandon Whitlock as A-Gay.   Continue reading

Deep Ellum’s Cafe Salsera Hires New Chef, Has New Menu

As the seasons change to the hottest time of the year, one Deep Ellum restaurant turns up the heat by bringing in a new chef, food concept, and menu. Café Salsera in Deep Ellum recently named emerging culinary talent Armando Aguilar as Executive Chef to lead the New American cuisine concept and menu.

A Dallas native, Chef Armando brings a diverse and distinguished flavor palate to Café Salsera. A culinary graduate of Universidad del Valle de Puebla in Mexico, Chef Aguilar has worked his way up the ‘food chain’ perfecting his craft at some of the hottest restaurants in Dallas including C.B.D. Provisions, Knife, and Dallas Country Club before landing the Executive Chef position at the award-winning restaurant at Hotel St. Germain and Chef de Cuisine position at Bouchon 1314 in Oak Cliff.   Continue reading

My First FroYo Experience

I will share a secret with you. Until recently I had never tasted frozen yogurt. Out of all the things I have dined on, noshed, devoured even, fro-yo was not one of them. Not that I have a disdain for frozen confections, that couldn’t be further from the truth. I just never had an occasion to walk into a frozen yogurt shop and make my way through the process.

The grand opening event, benefiting the American Heart Association, is set for Saturday, June 17. Berrynaked also just signed with the massive new Legacy Hall at Legacy West in Plano, with plans to open its stall in early September.
