Man Eats One Billion Chicken Wings

Well, maybe not billion. More like the billionth.

Quaker Steak and Lube is about to open their second DFW area location in Plano this coming January and to celebrate they held a hard hat party and also counted down their billionth chicken wing.  The honors for the billionth wing went to the man who devoured the chicken in record time.

Ken Rumbaugh was pronounced the mayor of Lube Nation and said, “Eating the billionth wing was an absolute honor and privilege, I am so proud to be the Mayor of Lube Nation!”      Continue reading

Celebrate National Burger Day at Quaker Steak and Lube

Quaker Steak & Lube is celebrating National Cheeseburger Day on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at its new Carrollton location.

Guests who visit the restaurant from 11am – 2pm will receive the Lube’s signature All American Cheeseburger cooked to order. Each burger will be served with a side of Lube chips or fries for just 99 cents (limit one per person and dine in only).   The  All American is a half pound ground steakburger, lightly seasoned and grilled. Quaker Steak and Lube Opens Today

Last night we were invited to check out the latest edition of Quaker Steak and Lube, the casual dining chain hailing from Pennsylvania that is best known for their mountains of chicken wings and sauce choices. There were sampled most of what the restaurant had to offer and had a chance to visit with the CEO, John H. Longstreet.

The chicken wings recently became famous when Travel Channel’s Man vs Food host Adam Richman tackled the Triple Atomic challenge by devouring wings sauced with a searing 500,000 Scoville rated madness. That ventures well past the Scotch Bonnet and Habanero territory, and can be quite maddening on the palate.         Continue reading
