First Look: Snack

We had the first look at Snack, the new restaurant brought to you by the team of  Avner Samuel and Jon Stevens who have been knocking it out of the park with Nosh.  Snack is located on Henderson in the vacated Horne and Dekker space and has undergone a tremendous transformation.

Stevens has been working on the menu for Snack and making preparations for the opening at the same time he was revamping the Bailey’s kitchen. Stevens admitted all the work has taken a toll on him but he is happy that Snack will be opening its doors at 4pm tomorrow (May 22, 2012) serving cocktails with the kitchen swinging open at 5pm.  Continue reading →

GRIP Opening Soon On Luther Lane

Tesar Signs Lease For Spoon

After a few months of searching, Chef John Tesar is finally proud to announce that he will be opening his new signature restaurant “Spoon Bar & Kitchen,” located in the former La Tramontana space on Westchester Drive in Preston Center, scheduled to open in the Fall of 2012. The 68 seat restaurant will be complete with a 15 seat bar that features a built-in raw bar serving shellfish from waters all around the globe. In addition to a small plate bar menu, Chef Tesar will offer a full ala carte menu, as well as tasting menus and a private chef’s table, that seats 10, that can be booked nightly, with a menu of your choosing, or one especially designed for your party by Chef Tesar and his kitchen staff.

There will also be an eight seat counter around the open viewing kitchen for the ultimate interactive dining experience with special items nightly, tasting menus and experimental dishes for guests to try.   Continue reading →

In the old Maguires Uptown location we will soon be able to enjoy the beautiful Chicagoland import Primebar. Labeled as a contemporary ale house or urban lodge, Primebar is a bit elegant with sleek lines and warm tones and offers over 40 craft beers on tap and a decent wine selection. The menu is mostly of the two-fisted variety as you will find upscale burgers and sliders (imagine that) along with a few other notable entrees under the local and fresh moniker.  Continue reading →
