by Steven Doyle

Yesterday afternoon Crave was privy to the inner sanctum of a meeting with the North Texas Chapter of the United States Bartenders Guild. There really is such a guild and they meet periodically and throw down some crazy cocktails and share war stories with each other. This day they met at Cedars Social in the South Side of Lamar area of Dallas. Continue reading →

Iron Fork Wrap Up

by David Donalson

photos by Natalie Holl

When we think of FIG, we usually think more of a fruit and less on the Fashion Institute Gallery, and on this last Wednesday, it seemed a bit more fitting as the Dallas Observer, in conjunction with Whole Foods, Fuze, Avion tequila and many other local establishments, created an event centered around food and wine. The highlight of the evening was an “Iron Chef” style cook-off between Charlie Palmer at the Joule’s executive chef Scott Romano and Suze Restaurant’s Gilbert Garza. We purchased a VIP pass and got in early, a key element to being able to taste and drink everything. Continue reading →

Say Farewell To Joyce With Free Drinks

by Bryan Coonrod

Tonight will be the last night at Joyce Lounge the 2 year old club in downtown, as a thank you for it’s patrons there will be an open bar all night long. Yes that means free drinks all night. Joyce is the latest of the closings that have been happening in the nightlife of Dallas and sadly never caught on on as it was a beautiful venue.

Word is something is already in the planning stages to take it’s place. This summer should be bringing a lot of new openings to the ever evolving nightlife scene.

723 N Pearl St Doors open at 10pm

The Modern 1-3 Month Rule

Toni,

I’m 37 years old and still looking for Mr. Right.  I first started having sex at 18 years old, and after reaching thirty men, I stopped keeping count.  It doesn’t seem to be a problem with guys my age, but I’m beginning to feel used up.  I’m not at the point where I want to remain celibate until marriage, but I don’t want to keep having sex and getting nowhere.  Any suggestions?  Continue reading →
