Two of the Dallas area’s most popular chefs are teaming up on Saturday, December 9th at the Granada Theater on Lower Greenville for a really fun 3 hours of teaching some of their favorite dishes for the holidays. Both Graham Dodds and Chad Houser will be working together at this special cooking class.
Expect some surprise guests, holiday music, and superb holiday cocktails from Deep Eddy Vodka. Everyone who attends the class will enjoy the dishes created by the chefs and will leave with the recipes that day all with a lovely holiday theme.

Festivus is a holiday created by the writers of the now syndicated television program, Seinfeld. The wildly popular show featured the weekly antics of Jerry, George, Elaine and Kramer as they battled through life in New York City. Often times they would be disturbed from their self indulgences forced to interact with their parents. One particular episode the viewers discovered a quirky holiday made up by the father of George Costanza, Frank.
Most of what was written into the television program was based on real life, and this is true with Festivus. In real life Festivus dates back to 1966 when Dan O’Keefe, former editor of Reader’s Digest decided that Christmas was too commercial to celebrate. Years later O’Keefe’s son, Daniel, would write for the series and included it into a script that ran in December, 1987. Continue reading

The Dallas Convention & Visitors Bureau (Dallas CVB) introduces a citywide partnership with area arts institutions and attractions in the Dallas Arts District, at Fair Park, and throughout Dallas to showcase the full array of holiday events and other activities for everyone in the family to enjoy this holiday season.
Launched for the first time in Dallas, BIGGER & Brighter! is a collaboration between the Dallas CVB and 14 organizations to provide visitors and out of town guests with ideas and easy-to-find details about the holiday activities and special exhibits occurring over the next three months and into the New Year.
“From musicals to holiday spectacles, and festive celebrations – Dallas offers an unforgettable holiday experience for local residents and visitors,” said Phillip J. Jones, president/CEO of the Dallas CVB. “As the number one visitor destination in Texas, the Dallas area has a lot to offer families that will put a holiday twinkle in everyone’s eye,” continued Jones.
