The Exchange to Open Two New Eateries in Next Month

The Exchange at the AT&T Discovery District is adding two new eateries to the food hall in the next month including Easy Slider and Birdie. Chicken concept, Birdie, is set to open Monday, May 23 and will offer a variety of fried chicken options and sides from award-winning chef, Joshua Harmon. Easy Slider is set to open Wednesday, June 1 and is a Dallas favorite known for serving up award-winning, inventive sliders.

The Chicken That Makes The Coyotes Howl On The Ranch At Las Colinas

The Ranch at Las Colinas is just that. It is like being invited to dinner at a giant hacienda, and all your friends are there. On a most recent visit I flipped out over the fried chicken, which is the most unusual and flavorful I have tasted ever. The fried chicken at Stampede is pretty remarkable, with its oozing honey pot center, but this is much different. The chicken is first smoked, then fried. If I was some sort of spiritual speaker I would take this opportunity to lean down in front of you and repeat, “smoked… then fried!” Can I get an amen?   Continue reading

Gas Monkey Rebrands as Amplified – Manchester Orchestra Performing Oct. 5

Amplified is Dallas’s new home for live music, great food and cold drinks. Occupying the same space as the former Gas Monkey Bar & Grill, the updated concept reopens October 5 with a renovated interior, improved audio system and new menu. Headlining the grand opening is Manchester Orchestra—tickets are on sale now.

The October 5 opening will also include Hush Money bassist and tattoo artist, Bob Kakaha (aka Bob Zilla), who will be on site inking attendees with Amplified lightning bolt tattoos and other designs to commemorate the occasion.

Happy Hour and More at Meridian: Possibly Dallas’ Finest Restaurant

By now most have heard about the exciting new restaurant in The Village by Junior Borges, Meridian. Reviews have been overwhelmingly positive and word of mouth keeps them pretty much packed every night. Weekend reservations through resy are usually booked up one to two weeks in advance, but walk-ins can arrive early for happy hour and pony up to one of the 10 seats at the bar. Happy Hour runs from 4:30p-6p Tuesday through Friday and there are some great options at reduced prices, as well as the full menu available.
