Pascal Cayet grew up in Argenteuil, just outside Paris, and trained at the Médéric culinary school before landing his first real job at La Tour d’Argent — the legendary Paris restaurant perched above the Seine with Notre Dame Cathedral. He was in his twenties and cooking in one of the most storied rooms in the world. Then he came to America, worked in Indianapolis alongside a young Wolfgang Puck at a restaurant called La Tour, spent a year in the French Army, five years running food and beverage in Bermuda, and arrived in Dallas in 1982 with a clear idea of what he wanted to build.

Frenchie is Our Go-To All Day Bistro in Preston Center

La Parisienne French Bistro, the Parisian-inspired Bistro featuring French fare for lunch, dinner, weekend brunch, high tea service, housemade desserts and chic cocktails will open to the public on Monday, March 13 at The Star at Frisco at 6740 Winning Way, Suite 1000, Frisco, TX 75034.

La Parisienne was created by local resident Mondi Tag, a successful local attorney and a restaurant owner and operator for over 20 years. Tag was born and raised in Texas and was the first female franchisee owner/operator for Dickey’s BBQ in Dallas at the age of 19 along with her mother and subsequently Genghis Grill in Dallas.

Celebrate Bastille Day at Lavendou July 10-14

The 228th anniversary of the Bastille storming and launch of the French Revolution will be celebrated with another stellar Fete de la Bastille dinner, served Monday July 10 to Friday, July 14 at one of Dallas’ premier French restaurants, Lavendou.

The Lavendou Fête de la Bastille 2017 menu has fantastic choices among three courses, including:  Salade Frisée au Confit de Canard – curly salad with duck confit; Jarret d’Agneau aux Petits Legumes et Couscous – braised lamb shank with vegetables and couscous.  Dessert selections are Assiette de Fromage – assorted cheese plate; Mousse au Chocolat  chocolate mousse; and Feuillantine des Fruits Rouges  mixed berries in pastry.

The Lavendou Fête de la Bastille 2017 dinner is $46.95 per person for three courses, served from Monday, July 10 to Friday, July 14.  Continue reading
