Dinner At 303 Bar And Grill

I popped in 303 Bar and Grill in Oak Cliff last night for a few bites. Up until now I had only beer and shots at the bar. Oh, the beer and shot special for happy hour is the best drink combo in  all of North Texas. The deal is $3.75 for any draft beer, and there are a few decent beers on tap (hey, local brewers… this is a sales lead) and a shot — all for the price of what some charge for a beer at happy hour.  That is worth the price of admission alone.     Continue reading

First Look: Wicked Po Boys

Something wicked this way comes.  We sat down with the owners of the Wicked Po Boys, Joey Le and Lan Chi Le. The couple soft opened the new restaurant today and will officially open with a full swing tomorrow (Wednesday, June 26, 2012).

The pair are definitely NOLAphiles and appreciate the intricacies of the food found in the Big Easy. We did all the press release fun yesterday, but today we went in for a First Look and have plenty of food photos and a fun Q&A with the owners.  Continue reading

Tom Spicer Is Selling His Garden One Plot At A Time

Tom Spicer, the master gardener and owner of urban garden Spiceman’s 1410 has announced a new program that is a bit different than your average CSA. He is selling virtual plots of land that will afford each owner a $45 bi-weekly credit at his Fitzhugh and Bryan retail outlet.

The plot owners will be able to select from anything that Spicer sells at his shop including his large stash of assorted mushrooms, micro-greens and herbs. You will also find other fruits and vegetables at Spiceman’s and often stocks white or black truffles.     Continue reading
