Duro Hospitality, which includes Chas Martin, Benji Homsey, Corbin See, Ross See, and chef-partner J Chastain, and is known best for the beloved Design District hot spot The Charles, is proud to announce their next concept, Sister. Sister marks a new chapter in the location of the famed The Grape, a Dallas icon for over 40 years.

Situated on Lower Greenville, Sister will serve East Dallas and minutes from I-75 and Highland Park. This will mark Duro Hospitality’s first venture outside of the Design District, which has been home to The Charles since 2018. The team looks forward to bringing accessible yet elevated neighborhood fare to Greenville Ave. and to the East Dallas dining scene.

Hawaiian Bros to Open Next Five Locations in Dallas and Northern Suburbs Fall 2021

The popular Hawaiian fast casual concept offering fresh food served with the Aloha Spirit, Hawaiian Bros, is continuing their expansion into the Dallas/Fort Worth market with five locations opening this Fall, including their first location in Dallas proper. 

The Frisco location is set to open at the end of September with Little Elm, Greenville Ave (Dallas) and Addison locations opening in October and an Allen location opening in November. Each restaurant features a striking design and island vibe with a kitchen void of freezers, fryers and microwaves. Food is prepared fresh daily. While the streamlined menu is an homage to the Hawaiian plate lunchisland-inspired comfort food which remains an essential part of Hawaiian culture.

Modern American restaurant and bar to make its debut in Mockingbird Station in spring 2022

Milkshake Concepts – the creative minds behind Vidorra, STIRR, Harper’s, Dirty Bones, Serious Pizza and Citizen – is embarking on its newest culinary venture by preparing to open The Finch, a chic new restaurant serving American fare, in Mockingbird Station.

Located at 5307 E. Mockingbird Lane, Ste. 150, in the space formerly occupied by Café Express, construction on the new 5,760-square-foot anchor restaurant will begin this fall with an opening date slated for spring of 2022. The fully renovated space will feature a warm, comfortable interior with an expansive patio and valet. Its welcoming and versatile atmosphere will create the perfect ambiance for a laid-back brunch, lunch or dinner, or an intimate date night accompanied by a nice bottle of wine.

CROW MUSEUM OF ASIAN ART PRESENTS U.S. DEBUT OF THE CRITICAL DICTIONARY OF SOUTHEAST ASIA BY HO TZU NYEN OPENING SEPT. 25

The Crow Museum of Asian Art of The University of Texas at Dallas will present the U.S. premiere of The Critical Dictionary of Southeast Asia by internationally renowned artist Ho Tzu Nyen featuring an enthralling, constantly evolving moving-image installation. The exhibition opens Sept. 25, 2021, and continues through Jan. 30, 2022 at the museum’s location in the Dallas Arts District, 2010 Flora St. 

The Critical Dictionary of Southeast Asia is part of an ongoing project that grows, generates and provides critical insight into the pluralistic definitions of the territories under the term “Southeast Asia.” Born out of recognition for how sweeping the term “Southeast Asia” is, the project considers what makes up an area not unified by language, religion or political power.
