Power of Pie Benefits Meals on Wheels

This is the season of giving, and a city full of chefs and bakers are donating pies to benefit Meals of Wheels.

Pumpkin pies, pecan pies and pumpkin bread are donated by Dallas’ best bakers and are purchased by the community for $25 per pie and $12 per loaf. All proceeds benefit VNA’s programs and services.  For those who don’t like pie or who will be out of town for the holiday, the website offers the option to purchase a “zero calorie pie” for $25; that’s a $25 donation, no pie. The Italian Job Opens at Legacy Hall

Troy Gardner is a clever man. You may remember chef Troy from his hotdoggin’ days when he owned Samson’s Gourmet Hot Dogs on Oak Lawn. Then he was putting out a terrific product, both for the omnivores as well as the vegans alike.
