In A Brilliant Move, SER Is Celebrating Valentine’s Day Friday Through Sunday

SĒR Steak + Spirits located atop the Hilton Anatole, is starting Valentine’s Day early this year. With its 360 degree views of the sparkling Dallas skyline, SĒR will be celebrating the day of love Friday through Sunday. Each evening will feature a decadent tasting menu prepared by Chef Anthony Van Camp.  Additionally, SĒR will also be offering a selection of favorites from the regular menu over the weekend. Master entertainer, W.T. Greer, will entertain guests on the baby grand piano in the dining room.

After dinner, the Bubble Lounge will feature exquisite champagnes by the glass and a lavish array of elegant desserts. Chocolate fountains surrounding a six-foot ice sculpture will be the centerpiece of the room, while romantic sounds from a white baby grand piano will add to the romantic and intimate setting of the space.   Continue reading

Shell Shack Opening Second Location in Plano This March

The much loved Uptown seafood haunt, Shell Shack, is set to open its door in Plano sometime in March. The latest location is situated at Park and the Tollway, a popular hot spot for many new restaurants. We spoke today with one of the partners of Shell Shack, Dallas Hale, and he said that the equipment has already been delivered, all licenses were in place (typically the largest obstacle for any bar or restaurant), and he is just waiting for the build out to be finished and to train a new staff. This is exciting news for those that love spicy crabs, shrimp, and crawfish.   Continue reading

Taste of Dallas Moves Dates to June 12-14

Back by popular demand is North Texas’s largest event dedicated to all things food — and this time, it’s even cooler. Taste of Dallas is back this summer, now June 12-14th,  to satisfy the thousands of hungry tasters who love to stroll Dallas’s Fair Park and taste from restaurants all over North Texas.

“The foodies demanded it, and we delivered,” said Billy McEntee, owner of Taste of Dallas. “This year, the tastings will be hotter than the weather, and sure to spice up an already fun-filled weekend at Taste of Dallas.”

Taste of Dallas is home to some of the best brisket, ribs, and chicken BBQ in the region. In true Taste of Dallas style, the event’s participating BBQ pitmasters will battle it out over three days in the $25,000 BBQ Battle Royale to see who is the king of the BBQ ring. Hypnotic To Feature Champagne And Caviar Donut To Kick Off New Year

Hypnotic Donuts will kick off the New Year with a champagne and caviar donut. The donut will be a white cake base with a champagne icing, gold flake and black caviar. Per Josh Griffin GM of Hypnotic Donuts, “I remember the day we were brainstorming ideas James’ (owner) first donut idea was to do a champagne and caviar donut”. The donut will only be available Jan 2nd (Hypnotic is closed on New Year’s Day).

The donut will be made to order and will sell for $10. For those that want to skip the caviar they can order a donut that consists of champagne and gold flake only. The donuts will be available in both the Dallas and Denton locations.

Hypnotic Donuts has two locations, the original at 9007 Garland Rd in Dallas, and in Denton at 235 West Hickory.

Save the Date: Savor Dallas March 19-22

Is it too early to discuss an event that is three months away? I think not when we are discussing Savor Dallas.Since tickets go on sale in just a few weeks it might be a good time to block off the dates.

Celebrating its 11th year, the Savor Dallas food and wine festival, which is set for March 19 through March 22, 2015, will be the ultimate toast to the city’s vibrant culinary scene and epicurean culture.  Continue reading
