What’s a vegan foodie to do in Dallas? Explore and enjoy! Despite Big D being a carnivore carnival, there are amazing options for those of us food lovers who opt for a plant based diet. The chefs at all of the hot spots in town have been amazing, accommodating, and enthusiastic about offering off menu items or adding permanent options to the menu. I’ve been shocked at how many of my veggie friends aren’t aware of the secret vegan menus or the places that are all too happy to whip up some special culinary delight. Since I’m the vegan girl that’s not afraid to ask, I’ve collected a list of dining spots in town that have mind blowing food available and now I’m going to share it with all of you! Stay tuned for updates on the best vegan places you never knew about! Continue reading

Sunday Brunch With Horne and Dekker
by Joy Jangles
The good people at Horne and Dekker are all about having fun while making great taste food. “It’s the culmination of a laid back personality, love of food and vast experience that blossomed into this restaurant concept.”
Today executive Chef Corey Smith is joining us today to share his Strawberry Brioche French Toast with Vanilla Bean Mascarpone drizzled with a warm Vermont maple syrup. Yes it’s as magical as it sounds and would be absolutely perfect for Brunch on any lazy weekend morning. Chef Smith’s French Toast is like opening up the best Christmas present on Christmas morning. He takes a brioche loaf and soaks it in milk and spices, fries it and stuffs it full with a creamy vanilla bean mascarpone. It’s the perfect little “package” to tear into, melting into the wonderful glory of crispy brioche pieces swimming in sweet Vermont syrup and generously covered with fresh strawberries. What’s your Favorite DFW Restaurant? Contest!
by Steven Doyle
We are often asked what our favorite restaurants are in Dallas. This is certainly one of the more difficult questions to ask someone that writes about the subject daily. Everyone has their favorites for various reasons, and I do have mine. Perhaps each of the writers at Crave should make a short list one day soon.
We certainly would like to hear your top five.
This week I was a bit under the weather with allergies and even lost my ability to chortle. I managed to order a few dishes in the past few days despite my lack of speech. Mainly by pointing and grunting.
Look what I managed to conjure up with my patented point and grunt yesterday: Continue reading

Highland Park Village Patrizio Open for Breakfast
One of Dallas’s favorite eateries is opening its doors for breakfast. Diners can now enjoy traditional Italian morning offerings at the Patrizio in Highland Park Village every Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to noon starting June 4.
Known for their affordable Italian family fare, the new “La Mattinata Breakfast” menu will also include moderately priced items such as Frittata Del Fattore a traditional Italian folded omelet with wild mushroom, chicken, bell pepper and mozzarella; Torta Rustica a savory puff pastry quiche with asparagus, sautéed onions, mozzarella, bacon and bell pepper salsa; Crespelle Farcite A Piacere homemade vanilla crepes with your choice of filling; and Uova Colombo a baked garlic English muffin with melted provolone cheese, pancetta and two poached eggs topped with homemade basil pesto. Ask Toni: The Modern Investment (How To Get Her Back)
My girlfriend and I recently broke up after four and a half years together. She was in school and I was working on my career when we first met. In the beginning, she told me that she wanted to get married before she graduated. We were young and I was reluctant. Ever since then, we haven’t been on the same page. At times, I put in more effort, and other times she would. Eventually, I think she had enough. She was my best friend, lover, and support system. She was the love of my life. She’s done trying, but I’m not ready to let her go. How can I get her back?
