The Modern Career Bachelor

Toni,

I’ve been dating a 43 year-old guy for ten months, but I feel like our relationship is stuck in limbo.  The entire reason why I’m dating a guy thirteen years older is because I thought he’d be more mature and more inclined to settle down.  He’s never been married before nor does he have any children.  So when we first started seeing each other, I laid my cards out on the table to be clear about what I was looking for.  He said he wanted the same, but now I’m not so sure he meant it. Thoughts?

This past weekend the trio of merry Scots escorted an empty barrel that would normally hold gallons of yummy Glenfiddich and asked local residents to sign the oak barrel and list their dream.

One lucky person will be granted their aspirations, be it climbing a particular mountain, cooking with a renowned chef or opening a business.  Continue reading →

A Visit with Spain’s Isma Prados

by Steven Doyle

Exciting does not describe the pure thrill of anticipation as we scan the series of events taking place at Central Market over the next few weeks. As we look through the multi-page flyer provided at nearly every check out counter at any of the market’s locations state-wide we get the feeling that Central Market has more than done their homework for the annual event that celebrates a different country each year. What a fantastic primer in geography, culture and cuisine and basically all things Spain.

For a greater appreciation of the event we implored the management of Central Market to allow us face time with some of the imported chefs. There are more than a few Spanish Michelin starred chefs milling about the Dallas Fort Worth area this week preparing for the Espana debut, and we were able to catch up with one of the more charming ones, Chef Isma Prados.    Continue reading →

Cafe Momentum Gains Momentum

Janice and Chad discussing farm to table issues

by Crave Staff

Parigi co-owners Janice Provost and Chad Houser have announced a new nonprofit restaurant concept called Café Momentum, which will serve as a culinary training facility for disadvantaged youth. To create opportunities for these teens to work with real chefs, and to raise awareness and money for the restaurant, Provost and Houser have launched a monthly pop-up dinner series starring guest chefs from the Dallas area. The first event is June 5, 2011, at Milestone Culinary Arts Center, featuring the talents of Jeffery Hobbs, chef-partner at Suze Restaurant.   Continue reading →
