Genghis Grill to Benefit North Texas Food Bank May 15

Genghis Grill recently reopened its newly upgraded restaurant, located at 5500 Greenville Ave. in Dallas, and is celebrating by inviting the community to experience the new design while also supporting a good cause.

Miriam Cocina Latina Opens Tonight

Miriam Cocina Latina, the newest concept from restaurateurs
Shannon Wynne and Miriam Jimenez opens tonight in the Dallas Arts District neighborhood situated on downtown’s Klyde Warren Park.  Miriam opens 7 nights a week at 5:00pm and will soon open for lunch Wednesday, May 15 at 11am.

Offerings include shared plates, soups, salads, tacos, enchiladas, combination plates, main courses and desserts from Mexico with vegetarian options. A combination of authentic dishes and new creations are prepared using fresh ingredients as well as house-made sauces and moles prepared with bold, aromatic chiles. Continue reading

We Check Out Restaurants That You Won’t Part II

A few weeks back I proposed I should go forth into the city and take on a few restaurants that one reading craveDFW on a regular basis not deem as craveable. I solicited a list of what soon became a dare with those commenting on Facebook. I am sometimes referred to as food snobbish, and nothing could be further than the truth. As long time readers are aware we will write about things we love, and leave the rest of the chaff for those that prefer writing more hateful tomes.

Negative is so much more fun and easier to write. A critical expression is also more entertaining to write, I can guarantee. However, we wish to give our gentle readers something they might actually be able to use on a date night with their loved ones as opposed to a half hour of dredge that is totally unusable.
