Fort Worth Food + Wine Festival Returns Next Month with Special Fall Edition

After 18 months of restaurant closures and the postponement of the annual culinary festival on two occasions, Fort Worth Food + Wine Foundation wants to uplift and honor the tenacity and resilience of the culinary community in Panther City through these showcase events. During the past nearly two years, the Foundation has awarded more than $115,000 in direct contributions to chefs and restaurants facing extraordinary hardships in the face of COVID 19 to ensure the continuation of talented people and beloved places thrive. Hors D’oeuvres and Pure Luxury at Dakota’s Steakhouse Reboot

The iconic Dallas downtown steakhouse, Dakota’s, has re-opened under new ownership and chef at the helm who brings some exciting new dishes to the menu. After closing during the pandemic after a 37-year run, restaurateur Meredith McEnemy took sole ownership and brought on local chef Ji Kang to run the kitchen.

“We really wanted to keep the timeless feel of Dakota’s that people know and love but expand and add new and fresh items to appeal to many different tastes,” said Chef Ji Kang.  

One of our favorite new additions is a selection of hors d’oeuvres. Diners can order as little as one or as many as they wish. Priced from $2.00-$4.50 per piece, they come out from the kitchen quickly, so if you arrive hangry they will tide you over till the apps and mains arrive. This screams champagne.

Gas Monkey Rebrands as Amplified – Manchester Orchestra Performing Oct. 5

Amplified is Dallas’s new home for live music, great food and cold drinks. Occupying the same space as the former Gas Monkey Bar & Grill, the updated concept reopens October 5 with a renovated interior, improved audio system and new menu. Headlining the grand opening is Manchester Orchestra—tickets are on sale now.

The October 5 opening will also include Hush Money bassist and tattoo artist, Bob Kakaha (aka Bob Zilla), who will be on site inking attendees with Amplified lightning bolt tattoos and other designs to commemorate the occasion.
