Sevy’s Grill to Close After Nearly 30 Years, Plans to Find a New Home

After nearly three decades, a Dallas dining institution near Preston Center will be closing its doors. Sevy’s Grill, a fixture on the 8200 block of Preston Road and a longtime favorite of the city’s power lunch crowd, will serve its final meal at this location on June 27, 2026. The closure comes after the team was unable to secure a fourth 10-year lease, according to a statement on the restaurant’s Facebook page. The beloved eatery was founded in 1997 by Jim “Sevy” Severson and has been a consistent presence in Dallas’ dining scene ever since.

There are also many local chefs who have written cookbooks such as The Cheese Lover’s Cookbook and Guide by Paula Lambert, Big Ranch, Big City Cookbook by Louis Lambert with June Naylor, A Cowboy in the Kitchen by Grady Spears and Matt Martinez Culinary Frontier. The Barbwires Rocked Treasure Street

Last evening we checked out Scottish Rite’s annual fundraiser, Treasure Street, and was it ever a perfect night for a great event for an even better cause. The night was filled full of incredible food, cocktails and live music presented by chef chair Dean Fearing. It seems that Fearing knows how to throw a pretty mean party.

Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children is a world leader in the treatment of pediatric orthopedic conditions, and this event raises millions of dollars to fund the hospital.   Continue reading →
