Seinfeld In Dallas At Winspear June 8

Seinfeldby Steven Doyle

Jerry Seinfeld is an iconic comedian made famous by his eponymous television series in the 90’s. Comedy Central labeled Seinfeld as number 12 in a line of 100 comedians they most appreciated. Number one and two respectively is Richard Pryor and George Carlin, so that list seems legit. Sinbad is number 79 so that list gets dodgy towards the end, but still, who doesn’t have a few Jerryisms in their late night repertoire? I am looking at you who often say “yada, yada, yada”, which can mean most anything.         Continue reading →

King (Or Queen) Of The Underground Dinners Crowned Tonight

dinnerby Steven Doyle

The trend for underground dinners continues to sizzle across the country. These are for people looking for a unique and intimate dining experience where they might interact with the chef, and meet interesting people with similar interests. There are two mainstays in the local undergrounds, mainly Chef Nicole and Chef DAT. You have heard these names many times on craveDFW as I have attended a handful of each of their dinners in the past.        Continue reading →

Look at Look in Addison

Look Exteriorby Andrew Chalk

Congratulations to Nick and Sam’s Grill for saving the destitute northeast corner of Prestonwood Blvd. and Belt Line from urban decay. I used to get taken past the sorry edifice of the former cinema here every Sunday morning by my dog. I saw it reduced to a pile of rubble. Now it is restored to a glory that its predecessor never saw, even in its heyday.    Continue reading →

Archer Live Comes To Verizon Theatre In Grand Prairie

archerby Steven Doyle

When the idea of presenting an animated television series to the live stage I laughed thinking it was an odd April Fools joke. My brain screamed in agony at the thought of live action characters performing clumsily across a stage, pantomiming to voice-overs in cheesy amusement park staging. This seems not to be the case for Archer Live, the roadshow for FX’s send up to Bond buffoonery.

Archer Live is fanboy ejaculate on stage. The show will feature a panel discussion, a question-and-answer session with attendees, some scene readings, and a few never-before-seen clips with the shows cast in attendance.       Continue reading →

An Everyday Red… 2011 Bridlewood Blend 175, Central Coast, California

Bridlewood 2011 Blend 175 (2)by Andrew Chalk

Think of a northern Rhône wine with a bit of Cabernet Sauvignon and Petite Sirah blended in and you have a summary of the varietal makeup of this $15 blend. Despite the Cabernet component, the green pepper and tannic qualities that might imply are firmly reined in.   Continue reading →
