DAT and Jon Stevens Host Underground Dinner This Friday And You Get A Discount

You know Chef DAT. He is the chef that travels, cooks and is otherwise an all around bon vivante. He is also responsible for  all those underground dinners you hear so much about. DAT is the undisputed king of the underground movement in the country and has been featured in national magazine and newspapers. We like to feature some of the more interesting dinners DAT hosts in his new secret digs somewhere in East Dallas, and he just alerted us to one that we would love to attend.

This Friday is going to be a very special night to remember. Chef Jon Stevens, originally from San Francisco, has worked in and run some of the best kitchens in Dallas – most recently Nosh. He will be opening the new restaurant, Mesero Miguel, with Mico Rodriguez very soon, with rumors of much more.   Continue reading

The trend for underground dinners continues to sizzle across the country. These are for people looking for a unique and intimate dining experience where they might interact with the chef, and meet interesting people with similar interests. Chef Lorenzo Polegri To Recreate James Beard House Dinner In Dallas

On January 26, 2013 chef Lorenzo Polegri has been invited to prepare a thoughtful and interesting Umbrian feast at the James Beard House, then one week later will recreate that very same menu here in Dallas. Chef Polegri is an Italian instructor for the Culinary Institute of America, the Culinary Art Institute in Dallas and Johns & Wales University. In addition to other career highlights, he has been a guest chef at The White House and is the most celebrated European Chef at the James Beard House.   Continue reading

Chef Nicole Hosts Supper Club With An Artistic Flare

The talented Chef Nicole will be hosting one of her special Supper Club events Saturday, December 8, 2012. This dinner will combine two of her favorite things, food and art. This will be Nicole’s first collaboration with multiple Dallas artists in the Supper Club’s FIRST Art Show and Dinner.

The evening begins at 7PM for complimentary cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and art viewing until 8PM. A 3 course dinner will begin promptly at 8:15PM and Nicole invites you to BYOB for the dinner portion of the evening. The cost for the evening is $50 plus gratuity. Continue reading

DAT Underground Dinner Friday, September 7, 2012

More news from Chef DAT as he makes his way back from his holiday that included nine states and seven underground dinners. DAT has gathered some new ideas and a fresh perspective and will share the recipes and stories of the trip at a special dinner this weekend.

The underground dinner will feature six courses for $70 and is BYOB as usual. We have the full menu below. From the looks of the menu it would appear that DAT picked up an immersion circulator, always a fun gadget to have in a kitchen.      Continue reading
