Pumpkin Spice Your Life in DFW, Uggs Optional

It’s that time of year again where everything becomes pumpkin spiced, like it or not. It seems the pumpkin spice camp fits about half of those we polled for this story with quotes ranging from, “I spilled my pumpkin spice latte and now ants are making brunch plans and doing toga” to “I live for PSL season, dude”.

Regardless of where you “fall” on the subject of collection of spices made of cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, allspice and cloves, we prepared a list. A list of where to either find your favorite flavor, or steer clear. We think all things in moderation. Continue reading

The Dallas Chapter of the International Wine & Food Society has announced that Chef Graham Dodds will be at the helm for their next event, “Paella Palooza – A Spanish Experience,” at Urbano Café on Sunday, October 14th.

That’s why the State Fair of Texas is proud to announce their newest creations! Fairgoers have the chance to taste the finalists and winners of the 2018 Big Tex Choice Awards but can also indulge in some of the competition’s semi-finalist dishes. Semi-finalists who don’t make it to the awards ceremony can choose to add their dish to their menu that year.

Dean Fearing Creates Dog Haus Dog

Dog Haus introduces the T-Mex, a joint sausage creation by the gourmet hot dog concept and Texas’ own chef and restaurateur Dean Fearing. Fearing, who is also known as the “Father of Southwestern Cuisine,” is the next chef to team up with Dog Haus as part of their year-long collaboration series in partnership with No Kid Hungry. The T-Mex features a Tex-Mex inspired beef chorizo & pepper jack cheese sausage, topped with chipotle aioli & firecracker slaw, served on grilled King’s Hawaiian rolls. Guests can expect to see the T-Mex at all Dog Haus locations nationwide now until October 31, with $1 from each purchase benefitting No Kid Hungry. Continue reading

Tasting Codigo Tequila at Veracruz Cafe

Tequila Codigo, launched in late 2016 with the support in the form of country icon George Strait, who is an investor and brand ambassador. Some may think this to be gimmicky, but quite the opposite. Strait has passion for the project, and the tequila is quite remarkable as we found at a tasting recently in Oak Cliff at Veracruz Cafe, which plans a series of tastings and even wine events in coming months charge by a fairly new co-owner, Nico Ponce. You know Ponce for his many years behind the stick in Dallas, and lead of the now famous Margarita Meltdown. Continue reading
