As food trucks become more entrenched into our daily routine we are fining more and more popping up. There will be at least five new versions roll out this month alone hitting the streets of DFW.
Local charities have already corralled the trucks in various fashion with events to raise funds for their concerns, and today we wish to direct you towards one such event that will benefit a local elementary school garden and science program. Continue reading

We give the TacoBots quite a bit of attention for a few reasons. First, they love great tacos. Second, they have a pretty huge following on craveDFW. And lastly, they are some pretty cool and diverse group. Here is a messsage from the head Bot.
What a year it has been! Our renegade Taco Eating Club continues to grow throughout DFW and we can not wait to all the things in store for 2012. Twelve months after the first official Facebook Group posting we have 358 members to date, 21 Meetups completed, 494 taco related photos from all around Dallas and the World uploaded, and dozens (sometimes hundreds) of daily posts for, about, and over NOTHING but Tacos. Last night we spoke to Javier Bernal who is the next entry into the world of Food Trucks in Dallas. Dos Paisanos will be the city’s first Salvadorian and Mexican food truck and he was eager to share his background that brought him to Dallas and eventually owning his own business. He is quite inspirational.
Bernal was born and raised in the Washington D.C. area which has a large population of Salvadoran nationals. In 2004 he moved to Dallas and was working in the restaurant industry. First as a fry cook at KFC at age 15, and eventually a variety of restaurants in the area including Abuelo’s as lead caterer and as a kitchen manager Prince Bistro in Plano. Continue reading

If you didn’t plan for a Santa suit this year, do not despair. You may still join the Santa Rampage tonight and we have their schedule. The rampage begins at Lee Harvey’s at 3pm and will move to the Art’s District at 7:30pm via DART rail and enjoy the various food trucks that will be awaiting them. The trucks include 3 Men and a Taco, Easyslider, Jack’s Chowhound and Cup Cakin. We are told this is where the reindeer high jinx will take place (think pillow fights and the like). Continue reading

Jake’s has been on the Dallas burger scene since 1985, and they have been fairly busy lately. Jake’s only recently celebrated their grand opening on Henderson with a completely new building being raised, and now they are part of the food truck culture as they join Fort Worth today at the grand opening of the Food Truck Park.
The Food Park opens tonight at 6pm with plenty of fanfare including free beer from Rahr Brewing. Other trucks expected to be at the opening include Good Karma Kitchen, YES! Taco, Nammi Truck, Lee’s Grilled Cheeses and Red Jett Sweets. Continue reading
