Chris Botti at AT&T Performing Arts Center Nov 17th

The nonprofit AT&T Performing Arts Center announced today that tickets for Chris Botti will go on sale Friday, August 24 at 10 a.m. Chris Botti, American trumpeter, composer and Grammy-winner for Best Pop Instrumental Album, will perform for one night only at 8 p.m. Saturday, November 17, 2018 at the Winspear Opera House in the downtown Dallas Arts District.

Performing worldwide and selling more than four million albums, Chris Botti has found a form of creative expression that begins in jazz and expands beyond the limits of any single genre. Continue reading →

The journey is long and arduous, filled with Kraft slices and pre-formed burger patties that have long expired in the depths of their freezer banks. But then there are the gems, the holy grail of burgers. Not many, maybe a dozen in toto found around our fair city. These are the burgers we hold dear, and we love to share with you month in and out. R Taco Reverts Back To Original Name Rusty Taco

Restaurant Week Highlights: Eclair Bistro

There are so many wonderful choices for Restaurant Week which began 21 years ago by Dallas’ most famous culinarian Jim White while he was working his restaurant show at KRLD. The very same Jim White who created Savor Dallas the magnificent food and wine extravaganza that grows stronger each year.

This week we wish to highlight a one of our favorite Restaurant Week choices by neighborhood starting in McKinney, Texas. Restaurant Week is a great way to become acquainted with new-to-you restaurants at a highly discounted cost with proceeds going to both the North Texas Food Bank and Lena Pope Home in Fort Worth. 2017 proceeds were in excess of $796,000, so this is an important event for both charities who do marvelous work for our communities.

The 3 or 4 prix fixe courses cost either $39 or $49, with lunches at $20. Continue reading →

Water Street is a pedestrian-friendly project with 60,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space, 316 apartment homes, green space and lake views, all located within walking distance of the DART Rail System, Toyota Music Factory and the landmark Mustangs at Las Colinas.  An impressive variety of pubs, restaurants and foodie destinations are now open or coming soon to Water Street, a mixed-use development on the shores of Lake Carolyn in Las Colinas. These include a popular local pub, a new concept restaurant from a Meso Maya veteran and a made-to-order, liquid nitrogen ice cream shop.

2018 State Fair Fried Finalists Announced

On Sunday, August 26, three winners will be crowned in the categories of: “Best Taste – Sweet,” “Best Taste – Savory,” and “Most Creative.” The competition began in early July with an impressive 49 entries represented by 30 concessionaires. Of those entries, 31 were selected as semi-finalists. Each entry was evaluated on four Fair-food elements: uniqueness, creativity, presentation, and taste. After some tasty tests and delicious dishes, votes were cast and the results are finally in! Now, the top ten finalists must present themselves to a prestigious panel of celebrity judges in hopes of securing one of the top spots. If your favorite entry did not make the final cut, fret not, concessionaires can still choose to introduce their creation at their stand as a new food during this year’s Fair. Continue reading →
