The American Heart Association Cotes du Coeur campaign to eradicate heart disease is holding a really interesting fundraiser. A tasting of wines in Riedel stemware. I did this once and it is really instructive. I left the tasting with the unmistakable impression that the serving vessel does matter.  Continue reading

Jack’s Southern Comfort Seeking New Location

jacksby Steven Doyle

Scott Jones likes his Jack’s Southern Comfort digs on Greenville Avenue, but he might be experiencing some growing pains. Today Jones sends word that he is looking for a new home, but will remain open at 1905 Greenville in Dallas until July 28, 2013.

“Many of my customers kept coming in saying how frustrated they were with our parking – and those are the folks who actually found a place and came in,” said Jones. “That’s no way to treat a guest! Daft Punk’s “Random Access Memories” Breaks the Spell

by Dr. Spin

Although in many ways, I am still on the fence about the new Daft Punk album, I have to admit I that I am enjoying the controversy that it seems to have stirred up. On the one side, the critics would have people believe that it is the most important album of 2013, but here on the street level it seems that praise for Random Access Memories is very rarely given without some reservation.

At worst, a lot of Daft Punk fans, both old and new, simply don’t care for it… stick with daft and care over at The Pharmacy
