Flying Fish Celebrates National Crawfish Day

Flying Fish, the fast-casual seafood eatery with multiple Dallas locations is celebrating National Crawfish Day (Saturday, April 17), with a free t-shirt giveaway with the purchase of 5 lbs of crawfish. Additionally, guest can enjoy 1/2 priced José Cuervo margaritas and Big Beers all day.

Harvested from Louisiana, the spicy crustaceans are boiled to order in Flying Fish’ signature seafood seasonings and served ready to “pinch, twist and suck” along with smoked andouille sausage, corn and potatoes ($8.95 per lb., add $2 for sausage).

Annual LSU Alumni Assoc Crawfish Boil April 28th

For 38 years, members of the LSU Alumni Association Dallas Chapter have gathered for our annual crawfish boil, in typical Louisiana style. Family crawfish boils are something of a hallowed tradition in Louisiana. Our alumni and friends know there is no better way to celebrate our LSU family than to get together for some music, games, and good eatin’. Our crawfish boil is a party with a purpose!

The annual crawfish boil is the biggest fundraiser for the Dallas Alumni Chapter, and the money raised supports our scholarship program. Each year, the Dallas chapter awards 4 four-year scholarships to high school seniors from the Dallas area who plan to attend our beloved university. Continue reading

Shell Shack Uptown Is Moving To Henderson Ave

Shell Shack opened its Uptown Dallas location in late 2013. And now, that flagship restaurant, which has since spawned five others, is packing up and moving to Henderson Avenue. The restaurant will occupy the former Mellow Mushroom space, which means more interior seating, a patio and a bigger parking lot. The Uptown building won’t go to waste, however, as Shell Shack founder Dallas Hale will be opening a new poke concept called Poke Go Go. Continue reading

The 2017 Ultimate Crawfish List and Locator

February 2017 is seeing a bounty of great crawfish with massive tiny lobster-sized crawfish, the grade A type, in and around Dallas. Some are juked up in spices, some are rather tame, but however you find them, or enjoy the critters, it is a good year to be alive and loving crawfish.
