Bistro 31 Offers A Beautiful Menu With Impeccable Service

bis2by Steven Doyle

Bistro 31 is what I like to call a beautiful dining decision. All the elements are at hand, a gorgeous atmosphere coupled with a seriously well executed menu and service above reproach.

It is only appropriate that a restaurant located in Dallas’ finest plaza which features exclusive shopping experiences such as Fendi, Dior and Hermes also hosts an impeccable restaurant such as Bitro 31. Consider the low-lustre Venetian plaster walls, custom Murano chandeliers, walls featuring contemporary art by local artists and a stand-up Art Deco coffee bar. Continue reading

Review: Five Creeks Tavern

20151203_190614by Steven Doyle

Five Creeks Tavern in Highland Park Village is located in a space which has had past identity troubles. Those troubles seem to have magically vanished in light of this new Italian hot spot that caters evenly to local families and  single adults alike. The menu is decidedly red checkered table cloth Italian replete with one of the better examples of VPN Neapolitan pizza made in an imported wood burning oven, a slew of pasta dishes where guests can easily mix and match sauces and pasta varieties.   Continue reading

KT Burger Open In Highland Park Village, Five Creeks Opening Soon

DSC07794by Steven Doyle

Dallas has another burger offering, this time it is in Highland Park Village with the recent opening of KT Burger, which is adjacent to the theater. We made a pit stop to check out the burger and the new digs on a Monday evening and found a packed house bustling with burger eaters, families, and generally a happy crowd (we asked).

The burger is wonderfully basic, made with an 80/20 grind, lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles and mustard, which is the way every great Texan would dress their burger. Of course you may have it prepped your way. We added a side of the house-made venison chili for an extra bite and found this to be a great choice.  In addition to a pretty damned good burger KT offers a selection of sandwiches, hearty salads, brats and dogs, and a few tacos. Do not miss either the sturdy hand cut fries or onion rings. Both are a great choice.  Continue reading

But Kleifgen eventually made it back to Texas where he was raised.   Continue reading
