Drake’s Hollywood Has Been Getting It Right on Lovers Lane

There are restaurants built around food, and there are restaurants built around a feeling. Drake’s Hollywood is the second kind, and it makes no apologies about that. The room at 5007 W. Lovers Lane near Briarwood is dim in the way that costs money to achieve correctly — not dark, not moody in the self-conscious sense, just lit at the right level to make everyone in it look like they belong to a better decade. The crimson leather banquette booths that line the walls curve and scallop in a way that recalls early 1960s Las Vegas without winking at you about it.

Near Greenville Avenue and on Henderson Avenue, Louie’s is a cornerstone of Dallas dining, blending a rich history with a vibrant atmosphere. Founded in the 1980s by brothers Louie and Chris Canelakes, this beloved restaurant has become a staple for locals and visitors alike. Recognized on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, Louie’s has garnered numerous awards, showcasing its dedication to quality and community. Louie passed in 2013, but the legend lives in.

Columbian Country Club, an Upscale New York-Style Martini & Tequila Lounge Opens December 22 in East Dallas

Columbian Country Club, an elegant martini and tequila lounge is set to open on Friday, December 22 in East Dallas at 3314 Ross Avenue, Suite 150, Dallas, Texas 75204.

The concept was created and founded by hospitality veteran Brian Rutt, along with his partners Justin Kallhoff and Jonathan Rosenberg. All three are owners of Alice restaurant, the intimate Pan-Asian concept one block down from this newest spot. Rosenberg is also Founding Partner of the White Unicorn Agency, a Dallas-based creative agency.

Dallas Fish Market Hosts Oysters and Martinis Dinner February 22nd (Contest)

It’s no secret that we are fans of Dallas Fish Market and chef Richard Triptow. He is a master in the kitchen and hios dishes are pure art. His culinary experience had him working under three chefs at The Mansion: Dean Fearing, John Tesar, and Bruno Davaillon. “The kitchen under Fearing was a very competitive environment, and most of what I learned about seafood came from Tesar. He took me under his wing and really taught me the styles and techniques that I still use today. Bruno definitely passed along his French influence to me,” Triptow told us. Continue reading
