Palapas Seafood Bar to Open in Old Town Lewisville

Shortly after the recent closure of Baja Rita’s, a Tex-Mex restaurant in Old Town Lewisville, a seafood bar has announced plans to open in that space.

Baja Rita’s announced on Oct. 10 that it was closing the restaurant, 253 West Church St., immediately. In a lengthy statement, the restaurant did not provide a reason for the closure but expressed gratitude to the community and customers who visited the eatery for a meal.

Meddlesome Moth Thanksgiving Brunch Specials

Design District gastropub Meddlesome Moth and serve up Thanksgiving Day brunch on Thursday, November 23 from 11am-3pm with holiday specials in addition to select offerings from the brunch menu.

The featured Moth Thanksgiving Plate includes roasted turkey breast, cornbread dressing, butternut squash mash, smoked gouda and pork belly macaroni and cheese, cranberry chutney and hot buttered roll ($32 per person).

Miriam Cocina Latina Halloween Brunch and Día de los Muertos

Miriam Cocina Latina, the popular eatery on Klyde Warren Park in the Dallas Art’s District celebrates Dia de los Muertos on Thursday, November 2 with an El Jimador paint and sip party beginning at 6:30pm.

The $35 price includes a El Jimador Tequila Flight (añejo, reposado and blanco) OR two El Jimador house margaritas frozen or “en los rocas” and a traditional ceramic calavera skull and paint supplies to decorate. Complimentary appetizers and bites will be served. Seating is limited and reservations are recommended.
