St Rocco’s in Trinity Groves Adds Sunday Brunch Buffet

Brunch is the most important meal of the day. So to ensure everyone gets their weekend fix, Saint Rocco’s is launching a new Sunday brunch buffet on March 7 that is stocked with all manner of delicious dishes. For just $25, diners can get their fill of Italian meats and cheeses, breakfast favorites like sausage and French toast, and hearty entrees like baked pasta and salmon. Desserts too, of course. Chino Shuttered, Enter “Sum Dang Good Chinese”

Upon first opening in 2014, Trinity Groves has been a culinary incubator for some of Dallas’s most exciting concepts. The original idea was for restaurants to take up temporary residence before moving on to other things. Chino Chinatown, which opened six years ago, has proven to be one of the incubator’s most successful concepts, but now it’s time to move on.

Troy Gardner is a clever man. You may remember chef Troy from his hotdoggin’ days when he owned Samson’s Gourmet Hot Dogs on Oak Lawn. Then he was putting out a terrific product, both for the omnivores as well as the vegans alike. Today he is running the helm at V-Eats Modern Vegan in Trinity Groves, a cozy little hot spot that is thriving selling only vegan dishes to pretty much anyone who loves food.   Continue reading

Closings: Fat Chicken Trinity Groves

One of our very favorite chicken restaurants in Dallas has shuttered. Fat Chicken has suffered from a spiraling lack of guests in the Trinity Groves leading to their demise.

The press release stated: “Fat Chicken offered Chef DJ Quintanilla’s distinctive take on all things chicken—southern fried with biscuits, oven roasted, grilled, pot pies and even ‘chickarrones’—as well as an old-fashioned pie cart with a daily selection of scratch-made pies”. Continue reading

Where To Find Fantastic Chicken and Waffles in Dallas

The Chicken and Waffle phenomenon dates back to 1930’s Harlem to Wells Supper Club billed as “Home of Chicken and Waffles Since 1938.” They claim to be the first to sell the dish during the Jazz Age, when late-night diners would order breakfast or dinner to soak up the evening’s alcohol, and get them safely on their way home.   Continue reading

A Visit to Trinity Groves Saint Rocco’s

In the air of Manhattan’s Little Italy chef Jay Valley has etched out a a bit of his past to share with guests who dine with him on any given night at Saint Rocco’s in Trinity Groves.

For nearly twenty years Chef Jay has been working with Phil Romano, who owns the vast culinary complex at Trinity Groves, as chef at Eatzi’s. When it came time to open something decidedly Italian it was an easy decision to bring on the chef as a working partner. With him Chef Jay brought along a lifetime of recipes dating back to his childhood. Continue reading
