Event Benefits Local Model Lauren Scruggs

Tuesday night Sambuca 360 was packed with people attending the red carpet fundraiser, ‘An Event for Lauren’ benefitting the Lauren Scruggs Hope Fund and hosted by Sambuca 360 and the Kimbell Agency. Lauren Scruggs, a Dallas-based fashion blogger at LOLO Magazine, suffered major injuries including the loss of her left hand and eye and brain damage after being hit by the propeller of a small plane when she went to go thank the pilot.

Lauren has made miraculous strides and continues on her long road to recovery, with a heart of gold and such a positive outlook, she is an inspiration to many. Continue reading →

Ft Worth Coffee Shop Dons Daisy Dukes

Coffee Dreamers of Texas, a relatively new coffee shop located on the west side of Fort Worth at 750 Alta Mere Dr. just north of Ridgmar Mall, which opened its doors in November 2011, brewed not only coffee, but also a lot of controversy by having their baristas wear a “Daisy Duke” type of uniform which exposed the employees midriffs.

Coffee Dreamers owners, husband and wife team Kim and John Holland, say they wanted a Texas themed outfit for the baristas to wear, but it appears some of the female patrons don’t care for the uniform. John said “We never intended to offend anyone with the uniform”. Continue reading →

Inwood Vineyards Produces a 100% Dallas Wine

Inwood Vineyards has announced that they have produced the only commercial wine ever made solely of Dallas county grapes. The 2010 Chardonnay will be ready in a matter of weeks.

85 to 95% of the grapes are from Cedar Hill vines, the remaining percentage are from the original vines located at Inwood and Lover’s Lane in Dallas. Continue reading →

Whole Foods to Open in Addison’s Village on the Parkway

The building in Addison that was originally home to Sakowitz, and more recently a Bed, Bath and Beyond, will be the newest location for Whole Foods. This store will replace the aging location at Coit and Belt Line in Richardson.

“We signed a lease on a property in The Village on the Parkway Shopping Center, located at the Southeast corner of Belt Line Road and Dallas North Tollway, approximately three miles west of our Richardson store.,” said Marleen Maxie, the Richardson store manager. Continue reading →

Happy 1 Year Anniversary TacoBots

We give the TacoBots quite a bit of attention for a few reasons. First, they love great tacos. Second, they have a pretty huge following on craveDFW. And lastly, they are some pretty cool and diverse group. Here is a messsage from the head Bot.

What a year it has been! Our renegade Taco Eating Club continues to grow throughout DFW and we can not wait to all the things in store for 2012. Twelve months after the first official Facebook Group posting we have 358 members to date, 21 Meetups completed, 494 taco related photos from all around Dallas and the World uploaded, and dozens (sometimes hundreds) of daily posts for, about, and over NOTHING but Tacos. Four Lounge Celebrates With New Cocktail Menu

We have been keeping a close eye on the work of Keith LaBonte, owner of Four Lounge located at State and Allen in Uptown. The barman has been making crazy good drinks at the tiny lounge and recently announced a new cocktail menu.
