Hey George Hamilton, They Are Opening A Zorro’s Buffet In Hurst

While researching new restaurant listings in the Dallas-Fort Worth area I noticed that another chapter of the Texas buffet Zorro’s was opening in Hurst. This might not be typical fodder for the average craveDFW reader, but since George Hamilton is in Dallas through April 22 while on tour with La Cage Aux Folles, I thought it might be befitting that the star of the riotous film Zorro the Gay Blade check out the small restaurant chain known for daily buffet sirloin steaks. Event Benefits Local Model Lauren Scruggs

Tuesday night Sambuca 360 was packed with people attending the red carpet fundraiser, ‘An Event for Lauren’ benefitting the Lauren Scruggs Hope Fund and hosted by Sambuca 360 and the Kimbell Agency. Lauren Scruggs, a Dallas-based fashion blogger at LOLO Magazine, suffered major injuries including the loss of her left hand and eye and brain damage after being hit by the propeller of a small plane when she went to go thank the pilot.

Lauren has made miraculous strides and continues on her long road to recovery, with a heart of gold and such a positive outlook, she is an inspiration to many. Continue reading →

Ft Worth Coffee Shop Dons Daisy Dukes

Coffee Dreamers of Texas, a relatively new coffee shop located on the west side of Fort Worth at 750 Alta Mere Dr. just north of Ridgmar Mall, which opened its doors in November 2011, brewed not only coffee, but also a lot of controversy by having their baristas wear a “Daisy Duke” type of uniform which exposed the employees midriffs.

Coffee Dreamers owners, husband and wife team Kim and John Holland, say they wanted a Texas themed outfit for the baristas to wear, but it appears some of the female patrons don’t care for the uniform. John said “We never intended to offend anyone with the uniform”. Continue reading →

Drink of the Week: Marquee

We sauntered into the sexy surroundings of Highland Park Village’s Marquee Grill and Bar last night in search of a fantastic cocktail and entered the realm of celeb bartender Jason Kosmas who is the beverage director of the restaurant, only to find he has slipped away on vacation.

This did not deter our thirsty selves, so we quickly bellied up to the bar where we ordered. And for good measure, ordered again. Continue reading →

Dallas Diva Does Fashion Week

Fashion’s Night Out, Thursday night’s kickoff to New York Fashion Week, had the city’s top fashion destinations buzzing with parties galore — to say that it was a blast is seriously understating things. Here, my exploits for the evening.

I started off at Galleria Dallas, following my own FNO itinerary and checking out the happy hour at Banana Republic. Guess I can call it a “so-called” happy hour — the store’s version of happy meant 40 percent off most merchandise, which is great, but … where’s the OBS (open bar situation), yo? On to the next.
