We wish to welcome Yolanda Banks to craveDFW as a new contributer. Yolanda is a mother and culinary instructor who lives in Dallas, Texas. Yolanda has appeared on the Food Network, Good Morning Texas, At Home Live, and various affiliates around the country sharing her passion for food.
In 2006, along with welcoming a baby boy, Yolanda’s ﬁrst cookbook Cooking For Your Man was published. In 2007, Yolanda launched her business and website, Fresh Is Fabulous. Fresh Is Fabulous gives her an opportunity to share her knowledge of all things food, and allows her to do what she was born to do; teach and inspire people to cook fresh, simple meals using seasonal, local ingredients with a global twist. As a Steeler’s fan chef TJ Lengnick doesn’t have much to say about the Dallas Cowboys, but he does appreciate a good whiskey.
These are a few general things we learned about Lengnick, who is the top toque behind Whiskey Cake, as he shared some of his cooking techniques with an eager crowd at the most recent Duo cooking class. DUO, the kitchen store concept from Tracy Rathbun and Lynae Fearing, has released its schedule of September and October cooking classes. Home cooks will learn tips and tricks from some of Dallas’ best chefs, with topics ranging from fusion cuisine and cooking for two to everyone’s favorite football season activity, tailgating. And while not a class, don’t forget that the first Thursday of each month is “Sip and Shop.” Come to DUO on October 6th to enjoy discounted prices and free specialty drinks from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
