The Grape Is Sadly Closing
It is with bittersweet and very mixed emotions that Brian and Courtney Luscher announce they are closing The Grape Restaurant on Thursday, October 10, 2019.
The Luschers have operated the Lower Greenville institution since 2007 when they bought it from the original owners after working for them for a number of years. Originally opened in 1972 by Kathy McDaniel and Charlotte Parker, The Grape has garnered numerous awards and accolades while hosting marriage proposals too numerous to count. The restaurant has always been known as a chef’s place with an ever changing menu. Continue reading

The Color Purple Premiers on Dallas Stage Jan 7th
The nonprofit AT&T Performing Arts Center announced today that single tickets for the Tony Award-winning Broadway revival of THE COLOR PURPLE will go on sale Friday, September 27 at 10 a.m. The Dallas engagement of THE COLOR PURPLE will perform for one week from Tuesday, January 7 through Sunday, January 12, 2020 at the Winspear Opera House in the downtown Dallas Arts District. September 20th Wine Tasting at Pappas Bros Steakhouse
With a collection of 4,000 distinct wines in the Dallas cellar alone, Pappas Bros. Steakhouses are known nationwide for their extensive wine list. Pappy Makes A Great Burger

It might make for a better story if Pappy’s Old Fashioned Hamburger, Inc was run by Pappy O’Daniel. I envision the rotund man sweeping the crumbs off the floor while whistling a few Soggy Bottom Boy’s tunes. In actuality, the owner does look a bit like O’Daniel, only taller. But that is where the fictional character and the burgermeister part company. The Dallas restaurant located on Mockingbird, very near Love Field Airport, jets out some mighty fine burgers along with a selection of home cooked dinner plates such as catfish and meatloaf. This is a Blue Plate heaven.
Give yourself an excuse to pass through the industrial neighborhood and discover a slice of old fashioned goodness on a plate. Be sure to order the fries since these hand cut babies are simple and delicious. The fries are worth the trip alone, but you will want to stay for the burger. Continue reading
